Moms everywhere know all about juggling more than we can handle in one day, stressing over what we can’t fit in and doing three or four or five things at once to get things done. But now, Alyssa Milano is taking multitasking to a whole new level! Alyssa, 40, recently revealed that after she gave birth to her son Milo, she had to stop filming on ABC’s new hit show “Mistresses“, to take a break and go pump some breast milk! “Everyone had to be very patient with me when we filmed the pilot of the show because I was still breastfeeding. Every two hours they shut down production for 20 minutes and allowed me to pump, which was lovely… and odd,” she told PEOPLE.
“Bless those men that put up with me, because I wasn’t feeling so sexy, let me tell you!” she continued, referring to her wonderful co-stars Jason George, Brett Tucker and Erik Stocklin.
Alyssa admits that she is a proud mama in more ways than one. Not only is she proud of Milo, she is also very proud of her work on Mistresses as well. She admits that one of the key parts for her when choosing the role, was the fact that filming took place close to Los Angeles, where she calls home.
That meant that Milo could visit her on set whenever he wanted, and also that she could have a few days off each week to spend with him. She is very proud of her abilities to juggle both motherhood and work, and rightfully so. We know that just the taking care of baby part is hard work, much less being an actress and having to stop to pump breast milk every two hours!
Mistresses centers around four female friends who get wrapped up in a series of complex relationships. Alyssa plays married attorney Savannah Davis on the show, and Alyssa says she knew from the start that the role would be an interesting one to play.
“I love playing women that are flawed, and right from the pilot, she makes a decision that has some heavy consequences, so I knew that that exploration would be really challenging and fun to play,” she told Us Weekly.
“I look at Savi as being a really good person who makes a really bad decision and then sort of has to deal with the repercussions of that. It’s not only the potential end of her marriage, but also her friendships. She becomes very alone.”
Mistresses premiered on ABC on Monday, June 3rd, at 10 pm. Tune in to see Alyssa in a great role!
