Kelsey James, a 22 year old mother from Bristol, Connecticut wanted to go out drinking Friday, August 22. No big deal, right? Wrong. Police were called to City Sports Grille in Bristol, Connecticut on Friday night after Kelsey James passed out at the bar. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

Employees said that James seemed intoxicated when she arrived at the bar, and they had refused to serve her any drinks. She was taken to the hospital. When she woke up at the hospital hours later, she asked where her daughter was. Cops began to search for Kelsey’s daughter.

Turns out, James left her 2 year old daughter in her locked car in the parking lot while she was inside drinking. The toddler was found unharmed, still in her car seat in the locked car, and sleeping soundly.

James was initially picked up by police and transported to the hospital around midnight. She didn’t wake up and become coherent until around 5:30 am, leaving her daughter alone in a locked car in the bar parking lot for upwards of six hours.

The Charges

James was charged with risk of injury to a minor and leaving an unsupervised child in a motor vehicle. The Department of Children and Families is investigating the case and has removed James’ daughter from the home. The story could have ended so much worse, if the temperatures were hotter.

There is no way Kelsey James’ daughter would have even survived through the night. Not to mention the fact that she could have been taken from the car by a kidnapper. James, who is only 22 years old, will hopefully be able to get the help she needs to get her life back on track and to take care of her daughter.

This is a very unfortunate and sad story, but at least there is good news. James’ daughter was found safe and unharmed, and Kelsey James is a very young woman with her whole life ahead of her. Hopefully with the right help and support, she will be able to turn her life around and set a good example for her daughter.

There are so many stories out there about children being abducted or dying from being in a hot car for just a few minutes, so it is still surprising that a mother would be able to make such a poor decision. We wish James and her daughter all the best going forward and hope that they can tackle these tough issues.
