However, there is another trend in Hollywood babies that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as those celebrity baby bumps, and that is surrogate births! Surrogate births are HOT in Hollywood and there are a TON of celebs who are having babies via surrogate!
What’s up with the surge of surrogate births? First of all, there are a ton of celebs who don’t have the time to take off for nine (plus!) months to get pregnant and have a baby. Some celeb moms are past baby making age, or they don’t want to go through the time, money and potential health risks associated with fertility treatments.
And some celebs just see surrogacy as the best option. Surrogacy in general is growing in popularity, and it is great to see celebs taking hold of the trend as well! Here are some of the celebs who have used surrogates!
After her two failed IVF treatment cycles led to the discovery of early stage breast cancer, Guiliana and Bill didn’t give up. After undergoing a double mastectomy, Guiliana didn’t want to go through any more IVF, especially with all of the medication she will be on for awhile. The couple chose to use a surrogate, and their baby son arrived in late 2012. Guiliana admits, “This baby saved my life!”

Elton John is no stranger to parenting, he is a godfather to TEN kids, including the children of Elizabeth Hurley and Victoria Beckham. Elton and partner David Furnish had tried once before to adopt a Ukraian baby, but the country forbids same sex couples from adopting. The guys welcomed baby Zachary in 2010, and in January 2012, baby Elijah joined the crew!
The American Idol singer and his wife Deanna welcomed twins in 2010 via surrogate. The pair already had two teen children, but were thrilled to add Addalynn and Noah to the bunch! Deanna’s partial hysterectomy was the deciding factor in choosing a gestational carrier for the pair.
