Missed Period

This is often the first time a woman will notice that she is pregnant. Most of the time any symptoms she notices before she misses a period could be dismissed as part of her normal cycle. If you do miss a period, make sure you take a pregnancy test as soon as possible. You will need to schedule your first prenatal appointment soon after you find you are pregnant.

Morning Sickness

This is another early symptom of pregnancy. While many women sufferer from morning sickness from the very beginning, others will take some time to surface. Morning sickness is most common during the first few months of a pregnancy. Often, after a woman enters her second trimester, the sickness will subside. Unfortunately, there are some women who carry the morning sickness problem with them the entire pregnancy.

Fatigue

Another issue that many women face when they are first pregnant is fatigue. Pregnant women tend to feel extremely tired when they are first pregnant, which can make them want to sleep more. Luckily, this is also something that usually subsides as the pregnancy goes along. Most women only feel major fatigue during the first trimester. After this point, some of your energy will likely return, but you will still feel more tired than normal.

Irritability

With all the hormones that are changing in your body, it is no wonder that you could feel irritable from time to time. Most women who are pregnant will find they are extremely emotional and could find themselves upset at the slightest issue. This is a completely normal reaction to a pregnancy and is no cause for concern. It is simply the body’s way of reacting to the hormones that are changing due to the pregnancy.

Breast Changes
Finally, many women begin noticing difference in their breasts. Sometimes they grow larger soon after they become pregnant. Other times, women notice their areola growing darker. These are also normal symptoms of a pregnancy and may be some of the earliest signs that you are actually pregnant.
Sometimes women can experience symptoms even when they test negative on a pregnancy test. If you are experiencing pregnancy related symptoms but have not tested positive, it is possible that you have used a test too early.
