Get Pregnant After a Miscarriage

What a terrible, tragic thing to have to endure at any point in your life. But how much worse it must feel to have it be the first child you conceived. I can not only imagine, I personally have been there. Your heart crumbles and you feel horrible, emotionally the farthest thing from your mind is trying again at this point.  Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

However, doctors say there is no medical reason as to why you cannot conceive again quickly after a miscarriage. Depending upon what caused your miscarriage there is no reason why you should not be able to conceive immediately after. If there is something medically there then your doctor will discuss that with you and treat it first, then you should be able to get pregnant.

So you decide you want to conceive immediately after your miscarriage. That is great, but do you know where to begin?

Keep taking prenatal vitamins

Your doctor may put you on a different prescription but you should be on them to try to keep your body “ready” for a baby.

No smoking, drinking or drugs

Avoid smoking, alcohol drinking and recreational drugs. For so many reasons, not just when you are pregnant, this is a great idea. These things have such a long term negative impact on your body. It is best to just cut them from your daily life all together.

Sleep enough

One of the most common overlooked things by most people whether they are pregnant or not. The right amount of sleep helps your body to function easier and puts less stress on you. A healthy body means a healthy home for baby while in the womb.

Eat right

Another thing that is usually overlooked. This is extremely important while trying to conceive. Eating properly balanced meals, not over or under eating, allows your body to be at a healthy weight and ready to take on a “new” being.

Exercise

Not too much, but try to not be a bump on a log either. Staying physically healthy will allow an easier time conceiving.

Relax

Be as stress free as you possibly can be. Staying stressed makes for an un-welcoming “home” for baby. When you are stressed your hormone levels are on the fritz making it difficult to become pregnant.

Get back to treatments

If you were on fertility treatments to get pregnant the first time, speak with your doctor about going back on those treatments; or try on your own for a few months. This decision is up to you and your doctor to discuss.

Try again

Be patient and remember everything you did to get pregnant the first time. You will succeed. It is nearly unheard of to miscarry back to back. If you miscarry the first time you are pregnant you only have a 13% chance of miscarrying again with your second child. The odds are slim and if you know you are ready for it, go for it!

The bottom line

In all reality how long you wait is up to you and your spouse. If you personally feel that you cannot handle it emotionally then wait. Yet at the same time, if you feel that coping would be easier if you were pregnant again and knowing that the odds of back to back miscarriages are rare then go for it. Your doctor will let you know if there is a medical reason as to why you should wait, but the odds are highly unlikely. Good luck in your ventures to parenthood.
