Not all positions are created equal

Choose the best sex position. Many people would say that sexual positions are not important at all in trying to get pregnant, but it is obvious that certain positions may help the sperm to reach the egg as soon as possible. The missionary position is probably the best one, as it allows for a very deep penetration.

It is recommended to place a pillow under your hips. This way, the sperm will swim even faster. The rear-entry or doggy-style position is also a good one, because the sperm is deposited close to the cervix. Try to avoid woman-on-top or standing positions in the fertile days, as these ones are not very helpful.

Take a deep breath and enjoy

Relax. Try to relax and enjoy these beautiful moments with your partner. The woman’s pleasure during intercourse is also important, as orgasmic contractions may push the sperm through the cervix. Stress is actually a very real cause of infertility, so try to relax and enjoy.

Lay down after intercourse

Do not stand up right after intercourse. It is recommended to lie down for a few minutes, up to 20 minutes, after sex, in order to prevent the sperm from leaking out of your vagina. The more sperm inside you, instead of leaking out of you, the better chances you have of one reaching its mark.

Time sex before/during ovulation

Try to have as much sex as possible before ovulation. Of course, it is good to have sex after ovulation too (especially if you are unsure as to your ovulation date), but the sperm can live up to 3-5 days in the uterus, while the egg only lives for one day. So, it is important to have intercourse before ovulation, in order not to miss the opportunity.

Keep yourself healthy

Make sure you are healthy. First of all, both you and your partner should see a doctor for a pre-conception check-up. Make sure everything is in order to find out if there are any problems that may prevent conception, and undergo treatment, if necessary.

It may take time

If you do not get pregnant right away, try and not to fret. You do not have to worry unless a year passes. Many doctors will not even perform any tests until a year has passed, as 75-85% of couples will get pregnant within 12 months of trying. In any given month, a 20 year old woman has a 25% chance of getting pregnant, while a 40 year old has only a 5% chance. So if you are under 35, then give it a year. If over 35, then you may check with your doctor after 6 months of trying.

Talking about how to get pregnant fast too much will become stressful for you and your partner and this may ruin your intimate moments. Take your time!
