How are your periods?

If you have regular, normal flow periods, that is usually a pretty good indication that everything is working right in your reproductive system, and it shouldn’t be too hard for you to get pregnant. Having regular periods can help you to easily figure out when you are ovulating. On the other hand, if your periods are very heavy, very light or irregular, it could be an indication that something is wrong and you might need to see a doctor before trying to get pregnant.

How’s your weight?

Women who are underweight or overweight can have a harder time getting pregnant. Eating a healthy diet and making sure to get enough exercise are both good ways to keep your weight in check to make sure that conception is as easy as possible. Talk with your doctor to see if you need to be concerned about your weight during conception.

How’s your family history?

Women who have a family history of reproductive or fertility problems are likely to have a harder time conceiving than women who don’t have any health issues in their history. Many health problems, such as ovarian cysts, cancer, PCOS, endometriosis, and more can affect the ability to conceive. If you are aware of these problems in your health history or your family’s health history, you can confront them head on and try to deal with them before they cause problems.

How’s your cervical mucus?

Healthy cervical mucus is a great indication that your body is working properly, and that ovulation is occurring as it should. Cervical mucus that is wet, gooey and stretchy is an indication that you are ovulating or getting ready to ovulate. This is called “egg white” cervical mucus because it resembles egg whites. If your cervical mucus looks healthy, it’s a good clue that you are ovulating just fine.
