Is your relationship strong?

It is important to honestly answer the question of how strong your relationship is before you decide to have a baby. Do you and your partner have trust issues? Is there a lot of fighting or arguing in your household? You need to make sure that your relationship is strong enough to weather the inevitable storms that a baby will bring into your life.

Is he supportive?

When you bring a baby into your life, it is no secret that you will need support. It takes a village to raise a child, and that is most important at home. Is your guy helpful already, or do you find yourself doing most of the chores and work around the house? When you have a baby, you will need someone to pitch in and help with all the aspects of taking care of a baby and a house, so make sure that he is willing to give you the help that you need.

Does he want kids?

This might seem extremely basic, but does your guy even want kids? What are his hopes and dreams as far as a family is concerned? Make sure that you are not pushing your desire for kids onto your partner, and that his wish for children is truly his own. Sometimes guys are so afraid to disappoint a woman, that they will go along half-heartedly with a plan to become parents. Make sure your guy wants a baby as much as you do.

Is he willing to sacrifice?

Does your guy know the meaning of sacrifice? Everyone knows that having a baby requires a change in lifestyle, but is your guy ready for that? Is he okay with changing your current lifestyle, and does he realize that things won’t be the same after you have a baby? You might not be able to go places, do things, afford the same things that you are used to now. If you think your guy can handle the sacrifices that come along with having a baby, you might be ready to start a family.
