It ensures proper development of the tissues, bones, muscles, and brain of the baby. In order to fulfill the protein requirements of your baby, you should add a protein snack to your diet. There are many foods that are rich in protein. You can choose any of them based on your taste and preferences. Some of them have been mentioned as follows.

Egg

Snack with a hard-boiled egg if you wish because one hardboiled egg will give you 6g of protein. That will almost fulfill your daily requirement of protein. Thus, an egg is the best option for you. A good thing to do would be to boil a few eggs together so that you have one handy when you are hungry. The egg should definitely be hard-boiled, keep that in mind. Otherwise you could acquire foodborne illnesses.

Peanut butter and apples

Peanut butter has lots of protein. Two tbsp. of peanut butter has a whopping 8g of protein. Alongside, peanut butter is loaded with goodness in the form of unsaturated fats, which are very important for your baby’s development.

What you can do is, slice an apple and spread peanut butter on all the slices. This makes a great snack! Make sure you don’t cross 2 tbsp. per day because you could gain weight if you eat too much. If you don’t like peanuts, you could choose almond butter. It is also a good source of protein.

Nuts

Nuts are very healthy for pregnant women. They contain healthy fats and thus, there is nothing to worry about. They are rich sources of protein. Hence, they are also a very good choice of snacks during pregnancy.

Fruits and milk

One cup skim milk will give you 9g of protein. Milk is thus a very rich source of protein and it is an excellent idea to drink a glass of milk each day throughout your pregnancy. It makes a great snack. If you wish too, you can eat a fruit alongside. A pear or a few raspberries are excellent choices. Choose those, which have enough fiber.

Yogurt

Yogurt is known to be a source of calcium but it is also a good source of protein at the same time. You can buy plain yogurt if you like or you could go for low-sugar options. The best way would be to buy plain yogurt and then add fruit or honey to sweeten it according to your preferences.

Whole grains

Not many people know this but grains are actually a rich protein source. You can buy a whole-grain pita or a whole-grain English muffin based on your likes. If you combine such snacks with 2 tbsp. of peanut butter, you will have a very healthy, all-protein snack to munch away. You can also go for whole grain cereal if you wish. You can eat the cereal with milk.
