Learn when you ovulate

Tip number 1: Know your cycle. You can only get pregnant a few days every month or every cycle if your cycle might be a little bit longer or a little bit shorter. And that period of when you can conceive is called ovulation. So you need to know when you ovulate. If you don’t, and you’re just trying to conceive any day of the month, it’s probably not going to happen for you, so learn when you ovulate.

Let gravity be your friend

After you do the baby dance, lie down. And a lot of the old wives’ tales will tell you to do this, and they’ll tell you to put your feet up in the air. It actually does work. You don’t have to put your feet up in the air but do lie on the bed for 10-15 minutes after you guys have sex so that sperm can actually meet the egg. If you get up out of bed right away, you know gravity is going to interfere and a lot of those sperm, you know, born won’t ever have a chance. So the longer you can lie down the better.

Time intercourse every other day

And then when you do think you’re at your cycle and you’re ovulating, don’t have sex every night. That might kind of sound like not good advice but it really is because if you have sex every night during your ovulation period, it can actually decrease a man’s sperm count and that’s obviously when you’re trying to conceive the last thing you want to do. So if you do it every other night that’s going to lead optimal results.

Try a sperm-friendly lubricant

Another thing that you can try is some supplements or lubricants that are specifically made for trying to conceive women. So take a look at those online-you can find some great information out there.

Relax & have fun!

And then the last tip that I have for you is relax and have fun. A lot of couples that are trying to conceive take it very seriously and yes, having a baby is such a joy! I love my son, but if you take all of the romance out of trying to conceive it’s not going to happen. So take some time, put a little bit of romance into it and relax. I’ve heard a lot of couples say that the month that they took a break from trying to conceive is actually the month that they did. So, take that into consideration.
